General Biologist III
This position requires an active USAccess clearance or the ability to obtain a USAccess clearance to be considered.
The General Biologist III supports coastal wetland ecological research projects. Utilize your expertise in wetland ecology and ecological techniques to contribute to data collection, analysis, and synthesis efforts. Work alongside a team of scientists to advance understanding of coastal wetland responses to sea-level rise and climate change.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for General Biologist III : $47,000.00-$55,000.00
Pay commensurate with experience.

General Biologist III Responsibilities Include:
- Provide logistical and technical support for collection, processing, integration, synthesis, and analysis of ecological data.
- Participate in field trips to coastal wetlands for data collection and measurement activities.
- Conduct precise measurements of soil surface elevation and accretion using the SET-MH approach.
- Enter, format, and conduct preliminary statistical analyses on collected data.
- Assist with literature reviews, data integration activities, and preparation of USGS Data Releases.
- Assist in analyzing results and writing methods sections for reports and journal articles.
- Ensure routine maintenance, operation, and calibration of field and data collecting equipment.
- Safely drive a truck with field and laboratory equipment.
- Provide technical guidance to partners and junior team members.
- Prepare and publish completed datasets according to WARC and USGS policy.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
General Biologist III Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- Master of Science degree in Biology or Ecology (or closely related field with ecological training).
- Proficiency in wetland ecology, including plant identification and ecological processes.
- Demonstrated skills in ecological sampling techniques for coastal wetlands.
- Proficiency in ecological processing techniques and statistical methods.
- Strong oral and written English-language communication skills.
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
