OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION:
Social studies teachers help pupils learn about history, geography, politics, economics, and culture. They typically integrate current events into their lessons and also facilitate healthy debates and engaging classroom discussions. Social Studies teachers need to be culturally sensitive and create a classroom where everyone is respected.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
Candidate must be at least 21 years of age
Bachelors Degree in related field
SKILLS AND QUALITIES WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Must be able to follow oral and written directions and have the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and students. Ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies.
OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide effective learning strategies for students to reach maximum learning potential
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to the learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students as needed
- Implement reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure
- Maintain order in a fair and consistent manner
- Provide adaptations as necessary
- Work cooperatively and collaboratively with all school personnel
- Maintain accurate and complete records as required
- Assist administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct
- Maintain and improve professional competence and growth
- Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees
- Demonstrate employee responsibilities in completing duties accurately and promptly
- Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or administrators
- Work collaboratively with classroom support personnel
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $35,500.00 - $65,000.00 per year
