Controller
Precision Science is looking for an experienced Controller to oversee our accounting department. The Controller will be responsible for managing general accounting practices, budgeting, cash management, administering internal accounting controls, inventory controls, cost accounting and building a strong financial team. The successful candidate for this position will report directly to our President and play an instrumental role in the financial future of the company.
Essential Functions:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, general ledger, payroll, and treasury
- Maintain perpetual balance sheet sub-ledgers
- Meet accounting financial objectives by completing cash forecasting, annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions
- Assist in financial statement preparation
- Inventory & Cost Accounting, including customer level and product profitability studies
- Analyze and record inventory variances
- Prepare and file monthly sales/use taxes
- Work with outside accounting firms to complete federal and state taxes, and annual audit
- Ensure compliance with existing internal accounting policies
- Maintain proper reconciliation of all G/L accounts and integrity of general ledger
- Supervise, Manage and lead the accounting team
- Special projects as assigned
- Analysis of systems workflow, and possible ERP/MRP conversion
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business Administration
- 5-7 years relevant accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Cost and inventory accounting experience required
- Self-motivated, professional, and detail-oriented, with excellent oral and written communication skills.

- Ability to professionally manage confidential information.
- A true team player with the ability to be flexible and do what is best for the organization.
- Individual should be proficient with accounting software (QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions and add on software such as Fishbowl preferred but not required), Microsoft Office, particularly strong Excel and Word skills
- Data analysis and advanced Excel skills
- Ability to build actionable presentation materials
