Position Overview: Friendship Christian School is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Secondary History Teacher to join our dynamic faculty. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in history education and a commitment to engaging students in the exploration of historical events, cultures, and perspectives. The Secondary History Teacher will be responsible for teaching history courses to middle and high school students, fostering critical thinking, and encouraging a love of learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective history lessons to high school students.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that meets academic standards and aligns with the school's mission.
- Encourage critical thinking and historical analysis through interactive and diverse teaching methods.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and projects.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning and participation.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate history education with other subjects and school activities.
- Participate in school events, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in History, Education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid teaching certification in North Carolina.
- Proven experience teaching history at the secondary level.
- Strong knowledge of historical events, periods, and teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students.
