CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR

Penn E&R’s corporate office is located in Doylestown, Pennsylvania with branch offices across the mid-Atlantic region.
Penn E&R, Inc. is looking to hire an upstanding construction inspector to provide construction oversight of the closure of a private landfill in Creston, IA. The construction inspector will identify environmental hazards and deficient construction work, per project plan and specifications.
For success in this role, you will apply your knowledge of construction fundamentals and safety regulations to verify the soundness of the project. Top candidates will be of unimpeachable integrity, detail-oriented, and assertive. You will need to effectively communicate with the client and regulators on site as well as with out of state coworkers. You will be needed at the site during all times of construction for a full work week (~40 hours) for approximately three and a half months (June-October work window). Anticipated work schedule is early July - late September.
Construction Inspector Responsibilities:
- Attend pre-construction and routine meetings where necessary.
- Evaluating plans and specifications for project to confirm conformance.
- Observe and record field and laboratory tests on materials to measure compliance with plans and specifications.
- Maintaining records of documentation.
- Follow all Owner safety protocols. Level D PPE required.
- Communicate with all on site and with out of state coworkers
- Attending close-out meetings for project.
Construction Inspector Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in construction, preferably as a construction inspector.
- Trained in OSHA construction safety.
- Proficient knowledge of work zone safety.
- Strong communication skills, including writing.
- Available to work shifts and over weekends.
- Ability to work outside in the elements and on steep terrain
