Position Title: Underwriter - Attorney
Reports to: Manager of Underwriting

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of personal injury cases, including the assignment of
gross estimated case values and anticipated liens, as well as the final funding decisions for
high-value, high-exposure cases. Assessments will require the examination of the handling
attorney, venue, docket, case facts, legal issues, causation, medical records, insurance
coverage, and due diligence background searches.
- Check state and federal court dockets nationwide to confirm the status and procedural history
of cases.
- Conduct additional online research as necessary to gather pertinent information for case
evaluations.
- Utilize a CRM database to enter underwriter reviews and input advance information.
- Participate in underwriting meetings as a collaborative team member, contributing to
discussions on individual cases and the review of prepared underwriting guidelines for specific
case types.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education, Skill, and Experience Requirements:
- Must possess a Juris Doctorate degree with 5+ years of experience working as a Personal
Injury Attorney.
- Proficiency in locating and reviewing state and federal court dockets online to facilitate
thorough case assessments.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to assign gross case values based on venue and case documents, as
well as estimate liens for various types of personal injury cases.
- Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment, using CRM systems dashboards
while maintaining a high standard of professional legal work product.
- Self-motivated and able to finalize case reviews and make informed funding recommendations
independently.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to discuss case facts and procedural history with
attorneys, identify essential information, and determine required documents to complete case
reviews.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
