Job Description: Materials and Process Technician This position is part of the materials and process engineering group supporting materials testing, process validation, and sample preparation. This candidate will be working closely with our materials lab and will be stationed at Glendale, CA. This candidate shall have the ability to communicate and work together effectively with their peers, complete work in a timely manner, and be detailed oriented.
The Materials and Process Technician will work on projects and provide support to the materials & processing engineering group. This position is responsible for the testing, data acquisition, and quality assurance of any interconnect products and related components. The technician will be involved with cross-section equipment, analytical instruments, and testing equipment to ensure compliance to customer and company specifications.
Responsibilities
Prepare test samples for analysis via cleaning, cutting, mounting, grinding, and polishing. o Support engineers in experiments related to sample preparation such as molding and testing. o Operate, validate, and maintain mechanical and analytical testing equipment. o Thoroughly document, manage, examine, record, and save testing data records. o Organize and maintain laboratory inventory, consumables, sample storage bins, and workstation areas. o Understand, use, and continue to develop analytical skills, including process development. o Takes responsibility for technical and personal development and knowledge related to testing equipment, and processes. o Meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks and demands under stress. o Other duties as assigned. ▪
Requirements o High school diploma (GED) or technical trade school equivalent, Associates degree (AA or AS) preferred but not required. o Good communication/facilitation skills, both verbal and written; professional demeanor and the ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel. o Good working knowledge of elementary arithmetic skills. 2 | P a g e o Computer skills required (Microsoft® Office, especially WORD, EXCEL). o Possess documentation skills related to data collection. o Ability to read and understand technical procedures, including charts, tables, etc. o Able to visually inspect documents for accuracy, completeness, and validate testing equipment as needed. o Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. o Able to lift 20lbs. o Able to stand for long durations. o Comfortable working with chemicals, precision saws, hand tools, and various equipment. o Experience with testing equipment preferred but not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $37.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 56 per week
