Accounts Receivable Clerk

Interstate Utility Trailer was established in 1975 and has become one of the largest semi-trailer dealerships in North America. We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk for our Cincinnati location.

Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
- Monitoring accounts: Identifying and tracking overdue payments
- Collecting payments: Receiving and posting payments to accounts
- Analyzing data: Gathering and studying payment and debt history
- Communicating with customers: Discussing debts with customers and helping with billing and credit issues
- Sending out customer statements on a monthly or as requested basis.
- Managing records: Keeping track of account statuses and collection operations
- Reporting: Providing updates on collection operations and customer accounts. In particular a weekly accounts receivable review meeting with the President, CFO and others.
- Performs daily accounting work such as A/R collections and cash application.
- Protects the Company’s cash, leads collection process, bank deposits reconciliations, and Comdata wire posting/preparation.
- Works with other administrative assistants at other Interstate locations to resolve payment and collection issues.
- Manages and reconciles the collection of daily cash/customer payment reports received from our outside locations (Indianapolis, Louisville, Columbus, Lexington, Cleveland).
- Assists other members of the Accounting team as requested.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED), or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two years of experience in using a business ERP system and working within a customer payment processing module.
Preferred Skills:
- Able to read and comprehend printed and electronic information.
- Know how to use computers proficiently with strong competence in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
- Able to use critical thinking to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches to problems.
- Possess the skills to manage time and multitask efficiently while maintaining a detail-oriented work style.
- Able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Able to communicate effectively with others in both written and verbal communications.
- Possesses an honest and ethical character.
- Ability to contact customers and request payment in a tactful manner.
Physical Requirements:
- Physical requirements are consistent with accounting positions, including mostly sitting with some standing/walking required. Other light physical activity like using stairs or occasionally moving items weighing less than 15 lbs may be required as needed.
Position Exceptions:
- Some travel to other locations may be required (within 2 hour driving distance – Columbus, Lexington, Louisville, Indianapolis).
