In this role, you will work side-by-side with our principal investigators (PI) and clinical trials intern to perform federally funded and industry-sponsored clinical trials using novel cellular therapies and monoclonal antibodies to treat diseases ranging from cancer to autoimmunity. Nursing Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with the immunotherapy team and PI to establish a nursing plan of care and provide exemplary patient care to clinical trial patients.
- Administer study drug medications and other treatment interventions as appropriate.
- Perform sedation for immunotherapy clinical trials in- and outpatients as needed.
- Support clinical trial protocol implementation, data collection and input into electronic data capture systems.
- Accurately document observations, identify trends and adverse events and report in real time to the PI. Work with Ryan clinical staff to communicate any protocol-specific management of toxicities and adverse events.
- Coordinate with other services. Submit Radiology and Anesthesia requests.
- Assist with discharges and explain discharge instructions to owners of clinical trial patients.
- Ensure clinical trial charges are captured, complete, and submitted under the appropriate supporting grant number to the business office.
- Phone consultations for owners and veterinarians seeking to enroll their pets/patients in immunotherapy clinical trials.
- Participate in team discussions and meetings.
- Perform patient care in other predetermined nursing areas, as assigned, on a consistent schedule. This responsibility will decrease as the clinical immunotherapy service becomes busy.
- There may be an opportunity for occasional remote work as the position develops.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Certified Veterinary Technician
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Veterinary Medicine
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask while paying close attention to detail
- Thrive in a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding work environment
- Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment
- Excellent organizational skills essential
- Willingness to learn other skills
- Veterinary Technician, C- CVT 3-4 years of experience
- Veterinary Technician, D- CVT 5-8 years of experience
- Veterinary Technician, E- VTS 8+ years of experience, VTS certification
Hours:
Monday through Friday 8-4pm
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.50 - $40.00 per hour
