Job Description – DISPATCH
As Dispatch in our reception area, you will act as the ‘face’ of our company and ensure visitors receive a heartwarming welcome. You will also coordinate all front desk activities, including calls, release of vehicles, payments.
As a Dispatch, you should combine a pleasant personality with a professional attitude to maintain morale and lead our team. Our ideal candidate can deal efficiently with complaints and has a solid customer service approach.
Ultimately, you should be able to ensure our front desk provides professional and friendly service to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Keep up to date with PUC changes/updates
- Ensure company’s policies, security requirements and PUC Rules are met
- Dispatch tow and light duty services
- Ensure proper procedures are followed for all services to include, damage waiver forms, abandoned vehicles 24-hour notice
- Know pricing for all services and services that we can provide
- Know the areas we provide service; counties, cities, forest service roads, trails, and mile markers/mileposts
- Review charges to ensure accurate mileage, tow/hook fees, storage # of days, 48-hour fee is included, and cc fee when necessary
- Cash calls and how to handle cash security
- Ensure timely and accurate customer service
- Handle complaints and specific customers’ requests
- Know which trucks are working and what jobs they can do
- Review Impound Vehicles daily, mail certified letters as necessary to include vehicles that are on hold
- Ensure proper mail distribution – to include posting payments for incoming checks
- Ensure front desk is appealing to the eye and no food is around or visible
- Support all staff in a professional manner
- Adhere to schedule shifts
- Time off requests – refer to scheduling. Also requested days must be entered in the calendar
- Monitor and make a list of office supplies that need to be ordered – send list to Donna
- Refrain from using profanity while you are representing Fred's Towing
- No drinking, smoking, or vaping while on duty
- NO USE OF COMPANY COMPUTER FOR PERSONAL USE
Requirements and skills
- Proven work experience as a Dispatch Lead
- Knowledge of Towbook software
- Hands on experience with office machines (e.g., fax machines and printers)
- Thorough knowledge of customer service, office management and basic bookkeeping procedures
- Proficiency in English (oral and written)
- Solid knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Good organizational and multitasking abilities
- High School diploma: additional certification is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
