This is a full year position which includes benefits and paid days off. Professional development and coaching provided by ELRCs. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement weekly lesson plans with daily activities and exercises; follow age-appropriate curriculum guidelines (PA Early Learning Standards)
- Planning curriculum targeting areas related to child development such as social, motor and language skills
- Creating schedules and routines, ensuring children have a proper balance of rest and physical activities
- Working with children one-on-one and in groups, supervising activities, keeping students on task
- Serving snacks and using meals as a way to incorporate learning, especially social skills
- Introducing students to concepts that are to be explored further in kindergarten, such as early literacy experiences
- Developing language skills by reading to students and encouraging discussion through storytelling activities
- Updating parents on their child’s progress with daily recordkeeping and documentation of behavior issues
- Helping students interact and adapt socially through activities that promote group engagement and fairness, such as group experiences for music and parallel play for choosing activities

Additional Requirements:
- Solid understanding of the principles of child development and educational methods
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field.
- Valid license to practice profession
- 1+ years’ experience in the education field
- Physical/TB Test, Department of Human Services Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Request for Criminal Records Check, Federal Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) are required.
- Certification in child CPR
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors and outdoors. Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children and engage in physical activity with children.
