Qualifications:
o MA Special Education License
o Must possess working knowledge of Massachusetts and federal special education regulations
o Experience working with students with disabilities
o Organized & flexible
o Good communication skills, excellent writing and grammar skills
Responsibilities:
o Consult with students’ current teachers to obtain current levels of performance, modifications, and accommodations before the first day of summer programming
o Attend orientation/planning (date/time TBD)
o Review and have a working knowledge of each student’s IEP
o Contact all parents before the summer program begins to introduce yourself, ask about parental concerns, and get parental input
o Plan for instruction, create materials
o Prepare classroom/learning environment
o Provide direct services to special needs students
o Record and submit student attendance
o Follow up with parental concerns
o Return learning environment to original condition
Salary: $35.00/hour for non-district employees
$50.00 for current QRSD employees
3 hours/day (8:15 a.m. – 11:15 p.m. including prep) Preschool program
3.5 hours/day (8:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. including prep) elementary and middle/high program
