Relevant experience is required. Prefer Tri-Valley or East Bay resident. Service and install electric signs and lighting in the San Francisco Bay Area. Growing company with future potential. Must have clean driving record as defined by our insurance carrier. Class A or B license is preferred. Wage depends upon relevant experience. Critical thinking skills, attention to detail and a high level of conscientiousness are necessary to perform this job.
During the initial, mandatory 90-day probationary period, our candidate as well as we evaluate if permanent employment is mutually desired and feasible. Pay is subsequently adjusted based on performance up to that point. Successful candidates prove the following during probation:
- perfect attendance (barring infrequent and properly documented emergency situations)
- excellent work ethic, looking for work to do when no one is watching. Willingness to do simple tasks such as cleaning in the shop or taking out the trash without having to ask. Does not have a "not my job" attitude.
- great attitude, humility and getting along with all team members. No drama. Good team player.
- no idle time, screen time, sitting around while clocked in. Clocks in only when ready to do work and clocks out when not working. Integrity and honesty
- owns and brings all tools necessary for the job. The list includes hand tools typical in the construction and electrical industry, including battery operated items such as impact driver, drill, reciprocal saw and cut-off tool. (we provide larger tools and equipment).
- wears PPE such as hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses, boots, and appropriate clothing while on the job without regular reminders. Fall arrest harness etc. as required.
- careful and measured, plans out his/her moves before acting but takes initiative as needed. Does not damage property, equipment out of carelessness or negligence. If a mistake is made, catches and corrects immediately. Willing to sign agreement to be financially responsible for property/equipment damage cause due to carelessness or negligence.
- overcommunicates, regularly checks in with supervisor and asks for permission as appropriate. Understands and follows chain of command except where warranted to sidestep. Documents work well and updates company work progress app as needed.
- invests in his/her skills, continuously looking to improve. Researches relevant job related topics regularly, learns, retains and applies this knowledge daily on the job.
- has common sense and can work independently without supervision. Acts professionally and friendly with customers, pedestrians, other workers on the job.
- has clean driving record that our insurance carrier accepts to be able to drive company vehicles.
- is trained and certified (we offer training) to operate construction equipment such as forklift, skid-steer, excavator, various type of lifts.
- passes drug tests. Passes all background checks.
Job Position Location: Livermore, CA. Daily commute to Livermore is required.
Our qualified technicians work at height including on lifts, rope, swing-stage or ladder. We operate cranes, lifts and heavy tools. We service and install signs and lighting for major retail brands, movie theaters, banks. It is one of the most exciting trades - our installers are trained in multiple trades and the job itself is very versatile.
