PSYCHIATRIC REHABILITATION COUNSELOR
South Jersey Behavioral Health Resources, Inc. (SJBHR) currently is seeking a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Counselor. Excellent benefits and paid time off. This is a full-time position with 12 vacation days, 12 sick days, 11 holidays and four personal days.
Under supervision, the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Counselor is responsible for providing a variety of community support services for adults with mental illness, including but not limited to, rehabilitative, skill development, pre-vocational and psycho-educational services to assist and support consumers to achieve community integration and reain in an independent living setting.
Provides a minimum of 5 hours daily of direct face to face mental health rehabilitation services to consumers according to the consumer’s individual rehabilitation plan, and documents observations, information and services provided.
Develops and maintains effective communications and relationships with other service providers to insure necessary supports for consumers are established and maintained.
Interviews consumers to obtain relevant information regarding work experience, education background, interests, and socioeconomic history. Coordinates training for consumers requiring varied rehabilitative, vocational and/or other related services.
Maintains current clinical records and all required documentation, reflecting activities associated with consumers in the program.
Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited college/university with a Bachelor’s degree in a mental health or other appropriate human services related discipline. Experience in a community behavioral healthcare setting or certification as a psychiatric rehabilitation practitioner preferred.
Valid driver’s license is required. Driver’s abstract must meet insurance carrier’s requirements.
Upon hire, must satisfactorily complete the SJBHR orientation and competency based adult mental health rehabilitation program training.
