We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of General Manager of Aerospace Manufacturing.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The General Manager is responsible for ensuring the achievement of performance targets and strategic initiatives by setting and meeting operational goals that are consistent with the vision of the Company. This position has Profit and Loss (P/L) responsibility for the aerospace manufacturing division (including electronics and wire harness assembly and CNC machining operations in Gilbert, AZ) with matrixed functional support from finance, HR, procurement, contracting and IT. The role directly manages a team of department directors and managers, and has overarching responsibility for contract delivery, business performance, as well managing relationships with Phoenix Defense clients. As a key member of our senior executive team, this person will work as an integral team member aligned with others leading technology, growth, and business across the Phoenix Defense portfolio. This position will report to the CEO.
The position is fully responsible for all aspects of P&L for Aerospace Manufacturing's Delivery Portfolio, including setting strategy for growth of the aerospace manufacturing division, program delivery, periodic reviews, proactive customer, and third-party assessments for exceeding the performance objectives of the programs and more.
The position is accountable in part for the company’s financial performance objectives, to primarily include but not limited to:

- Revenue Growth (Organic and Inorganic)
- Profitability
- Cash Generation
- Program Performance
- Customer Satisfaction (CPARS, Awards, etc.)

Supporting the above primary roles, in conjunction with the Company’s growth, this position will also be responsible participating and assisting with all aspects of company’s technology-related activities in accordance with the company’s strategic growth and operational plan.
- Responsible for all aspects of profit and loss management and oversight of the day-to-day operations, task execution, and delivery of programs.
- Responsible for setting aerospace manufacturing business growth strategy and new business pipeline development, pursuit, and proposal.
- Establish and implement key metrics and key performance indicators (KPI), which provide periodic and on-demand health check of programs, contracts, and customer relationship at all levels of decision making.
- Maintain real time/regular communication with key customers and take proactive and lead roles in new business development activities.
- Manage enterprise level risk management process; work with teams to mitigate exposure, resolve issues, and escalate when necessary.
- Be ultimately responsible for all aspects of division compliance, customer satisfaction and staff professional and career development.
- Provide input into Price-to-Win strategies shared responsibility with Contracts/Pricing and Business Development/Growth.
- Participate in proposal development from an operations and delivery perspective, taking responsibility for the management approach and program management plan, as well as participating in solutioning related to the overall technical approach.
- Uphold highest level of integrity in performing a leadership role through an unbiased and successful execution of customers’ mission as agreed upon through the entire capture/close cycle.
- Manage toward achieving excellent CPARS and customer feedback.
- Provide leadership and vision to employees, motivate them to strive for excellence, achievement of business goals and objectives, and instill a culture of customer service and accountability.
- Document and maintain an inventory of Past Performances, Client Assessment, Third Party Assessment and Cost Efficiencies.
- Working in conjunction with Business Development/Growth, monitor competitor capabilities, sales, and marketing activities.
- Be the face of delivery organization in working closely with the rest of the company’s key executive staff in development, execution of company’s growth strategies.
- Serve as integral and active role in relevant key aspects of potential M&A.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 15-20+ years of industry leadership experience and a strong track record of profit and loss management in aerospace engineering design and manufacturing.
- Experience in leading an aerospace manufacturing business unit or portfolio over $25M+.
- Experience in addressing contract pricing adjustments, modifications, etc. with government customers.
- Ability to think and plan strategically and execute tactically to meet the growth targets within the current accounts to capture and grow market share among competitors.
- Demonstrated aerospace industry contacts and relationship that are relevant to continued organizational growth through superior delivery performance and customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrated and proven ability to manage and direct senior client services and delivery, program, and account managers.
- Proven strong experience for revenue growth and management of P&L with fiscal discipline, in public and private sectors of the market.
- Proven experience in comprehensive, advanced negotiation and closing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to grow the current revenue base and support penetration of new markets; leverage personal and professional relationships into quality revenue growth.
- Experience communicating and collaborating with C-Suite Executives.

- Ability to execute on various vendor and government contract types (Cost Plus, Fixed Fee, Time and Materials, etc.).
