We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Cost Accountant with a strong background in manufacturing operations to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment. As a Junior Cost Accountant, you will play a critical role in analyzing production costs, monitoring inventory, and providing insights to optimize cost efficiency and profitability. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Cost Analysis and Reporting:
· Analyze manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead, to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
· Prepare and present regular cost reports to management, highlighting key findings and recommending cost-saving strategies.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and insights to support accurate cost analysis.
Inventory Management:
· Monitor inventory levels and valuation, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
· Assist in reconciling physical inventory counts with system records and investigate discrepancies.
· Work closely with procurement and production teams to optimize inventory turnover and minimize carrying costs.
Bill of Materials (BOM) Analysis:
· Review and analyze Bill of Materials to ensure accurate cost allocation for each product.
· Collaborate with engineering and production teams to update BOMs as needed based on design changes or process improvements.
Variance Analysis:
· Investigate and explain variances between standard costs and actual costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
· Collaborate with operations and production teams to identify root causes of variances and implement corrective actions.
Process Improvement:
· Identify opportunities to enhance cost accounting processes, streamline workflows, and improve data accuracy.
· Participate in cross-functional initiatives aimed at optimizing operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Financial Planning and Budgeting:
· Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts related to manufacturing costs and inventory.
· Provide insights to aid in decision-making and support the achievement of financial targets.
Compliance and Audit:
· Ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
· Assist with internal and external audits by providing accurate cost data and documentation.
Qualifications / Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, cost components, and inventory management.
- Proficiency in Excel and other accounting software; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across departments.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to process improvement.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and cost accounting standards.

· Must be able to work in environment containing flour dust, wheat, milk, Egg, Soy (allergens).

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
· Light travel between worksites
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
