Position Description
Position Title: Assistant Store Manager
Position Type: Department Assistant Manager
Reports to: Retail Store Manager
Location: Enlighten AK Retail
Standard shift hours: Evening Shift, Rotating Days, Weekends required
Roles and Responsibilities:
o Manage human resources functions and supervision of retail staff with tasks including, but not limited to:
- Interviewing, Hiring, Onboarding.
- Disciplinary Protocols (Written Warnings), Performance Evaluations and Reviews, Terminations
- Providing staff resolution meetings (Peer-to-Peer and Top-Down)
- Establishing work schedules and daily target goals
- Approving Weekly Timesheets
- Keeping Employee Files Up-to-Date (Digital and Physical files)
- Assist with preparation and conducting of monthly/quarterly All-Staff meetings
- Perform daily Shift Change Updates meeting with Shift Leads and Budtenders between 3:45pm-4:15pm
· Assist in daily Accounts Payable/Receivable and Bookkeeping functions within the store including but not limited to:
- Daily Counting and reporting on the Main Safe
- Daily Preparing tills
- Daily End-Of-Day Sales reconciliation
- Daily Payment preparation for all purchases store-wide (Excluding when digital wire transfer is utilized.)
- Weekly Tip Reporting
- Cashless ATM Sales Reporting (when applicable)
- Weekly Budget Reporting
· Perform regular and routine oversight, audits, preparation, and maintenance regarding topics including but not limited to:
- Building Maintenance (HVAC, Store Displays, Plumbing, Proper Product Storage, etc.)
- POS system
- Retail digital tracking assets
- Operate as liaison to incoming vendor reps on Vendor Day collaborations with partnering brands.
- Execute Marketing, Promotional, and Merchandising directives established by the GM and Director of Sales and Marketing.
· Assist with receiving all deliveries that arrive, overseeing their movement through the digital tracking systems used throughout the store:
- MetrC
- Dutchie
- Weedmaps
- Inventory Storage Room
· Coordination with Retail General Manager to address store needs and requests from Retail Sales team.
· Merchandising
· Responsible for purchasing store needs such as but not limited to
- General supplies
- Cleaning supplies
- Sellable products
· Responsible for performing and tracking continual hands-on training with Shift Leads regarding emergency and safety protocols, menu maintenance, label-making, “game over” procedures, and POS/tech troubleshooting skills.
· Responsible for performing and tracking continual hands-on training with Budtenders regarding upselling protocols, current promotions and sales goals, overall cannabis knowledge, industry news, as well as safety and cleanliness standards.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Additional inventory and/or human resources background preferred.
- Knowledge of Alaska's cannabis products, brands, cultivation/extraction methods, safe consumption practices, and a general familiarity with cannabis culture.
- A valid marijuana handler's permit for the State of Alaska.
- Excellent analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)

- Ability to lead an effective team that optimizes strategies to fit people's strengths.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
