Job Summary:
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) provides direct and indirect patient care in the emergency care setting. Utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation, the ER RN collaborates with other health team members to provide holistic care to patients experiencing acute, critical, and emergent conditions.
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in emergency or critical care nursing preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
What can you expect to do as a RN?
- Perform initial and ongoing assessment of patients’ medical, physical, and psychosocial status.
- Prioritize care based on acuity level and contribute to triage decisions.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians or advanced practice providers.
- Monitor and adjust patient care plans based on patient response and condition changes.
- Perform emergency medical procedures, such as CPR, airway management, and stabilization.
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately and concisely in the electronic medical record.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient care plans and progress.
- Educate patients and families about their conditions, medications, and treatments.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families during times of crisis.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and ancillary departments to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, committees, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain readiness to respond to mass casualty incidents and disasters.
- Adhere to infection control policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
