Gateway Counseling Center, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit that provides services to adults with developmental disabilities, as well as adults with mental illness. Gateway’s mission is to enhance the lives of others through our program services, which are designed to increase independence and functioning through person-centered and goal-based care. Our programs operate 7-days a week and the agency provides to-and-from transportation to our service recipients, at no cost to them so that services are accessible for those who may benefit from our care.
Summary As a Transporter: Drives company vehicle to transport individuals with intellectual disabilities between their residences and Gateway and within the community; As a matron: Escorts individuals with intellectual disabilities to and from program, ensuring their safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Transports individuals with intellectual disabilities to and from Gateway and their residences in a safe manner.
Safely transports individuals to and from Gateway for medical appointments and other appointments as needed during program hours.
Ensures that individuals sign in and out, as required, when they are transported.
Serves as an escort for individuals being transported when called upon to do so.
Complete all necessary documentation including but not limited to route sheets, fuel logs and vehicle inspection forms.
Completes all assigned Limosys work and any other duties assigned on electronic routing platforms.
Maintain the cleanliness and safety of each vehicle.
Follows the hand-to-hand drop off policy where applicable.
Follows all GCC Driving Protocols and NYS Driving Laws.
Ensures safety of all individuals and staff during transport. Reports to the assigned van and route on time.
Escorts individuals between program and homes and other locations.
When serving as Matron, assists individuals in walking to prevent accidents by falling, or transports nonambulatory patient with wheelchair.
Delivers messages, mail, medical records, and other items, as needed.

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
