Automotive Technicians will report to the Lead Automotive Technician and the Service Manager
Job Overview
This person will be responsible for the repair and preventive maintenance of automotive equipment. Duties include performing emissions inspections, diagnostic testing of vehicles, and the replacement of worn components. The technician will be working on brakes, engines, steering, and electrical systems.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Diagnose the customer’s concerns by using diagnostic equipment, listening to what’s being said, and using skills and knowledge to make an educated assessment.
- Communicate with the customer any information regarding the status of their automotive service; changes, concerns, timelines, etc.
- Installing and testing products, equipment, and machinery and providing instructions to customers on the proper usage of their products.
- Fixing defective or broken products or ordering the necessary parts to replace faulty or worn-out parts.
- Perform maintenance and repair on customer vehicles.
- Explain automotive repairs and issues and provide great customer service.
- Plan repair procedures using chart manuals and experience.
- Test the functionality of parts and systems.
- Perform basic auto care and maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid level checks, and tire rotation.
- Repair and replace brake pads, wheel bearings, sensors, and other parts.
- Perform routine maintenance and general mechanic work on vehicles.
- Prepared to get additional certification as needed.
- Willingness to learn with hands-on training.
- Help keep the repair shop clean and organized.
- Keep a professional appearance.
- Promoting the company's services.
- Maintaining your technical and mechanical skills.
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with other departments. For example, communicating with the service advisors to explain vehicle needs and quote repairs and the parts department to ensure proper parts for the repair.
- Have the willingness to step in where needed to ensure jobs are completed properly and in a timely manner.
- Adaptable to changing work environments while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Has the desire to learn, grow, and develop as the organization and position requirements.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Motor Vehicle Mechanic Certification (preferred)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment

Pay: $40,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
