JOB DESCRIPTION: ACCOUNT MANAGER
Our client is an exceptional Public Relations/Marketing firm seeking individuals with a love of the food and beverage category to join their growing Food, Wine & Spirits practice as Account Manager; this position is in the New York office. The individual will work with the Food, Wine & Spirits team and serve as a day-to-day lead on select brands in their portfolio of industry-leading and award-winning clients. Our ideal candidate is someone with a minimum of three years experience in food and beverage public relations, a desire to grow with a fun hard-working team, and a passion for delivering exceptional results.

Role Overview
The ideal Account Manager is an entrepreneurial, self-starter with impeccable organizational skills, attention to detail, and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
An Account Manager is a day-to-day contact for clients and is responsible to lead assigned elements of the PR program and account management to deliver exceptional service and impactful results.
The Account Manager reports to Account Supervisor or higher.
Specific Responsibilities
• Strategy
o Work with leadership to develop strategic plans for clients, as part of annual planning cycles (“the plan”) and on ongoing basis (proactive / reactive opportunities, campaigns and initiatives)
o Lead strategic development for assigned elements of plans
o Align with leadership to provide strategic counsel to clients
• Execution
o Manage day-to-day public relations plan and deliverables
o Manage agreed upon programs for clients, including but not limited to ongoing media relations, event planning, influencer engagement, strategic partnerships, et al.
o Regularly secure target media placements for clients
o Ensure all materials required for the successful delivery of results are in place, approved and ready for implementation (i.e. press releases, bios, Q&As, target lists, etc.) – managing junior staff as required and appropriate
o Develop and maintain relationships with media, influencers and organizations on behalf of clients and Agency
• Leadership / Management
o Lead junior staff to deliver anticipated media placements and results
o Motivate and mentor junior staff
o Participate in new business development process, including strategy and creative sessions, concept development, and more
• Client Management
o Serve as day-to-day client contact, able to answer questions regarding PR, plan and media directly and unprompted
o Anticipate clients’ strategic needs – long and short term
o Plan and manage client meetings
Education and Experience Required
- Minimum three years of experience on either the agency or client side, with demonstrated success (impactful placements and feature coverage) across all channels
- Strong media relationships (category, lifestyle and general consumer media) on both a national and regional level
- Exceptional interpersonal, networking, and verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Social media skills/community management is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Proven track record in client service, and strategy development and execution
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
