Position Description:
RAMTeCH Software Solutions is a global GIS consulting, data management, and software solutions company specializing in the utility, energy, and telecommunications industries. We are seeking an experienced GIS Operations Manager to work either in our Stillwater, MN office or remotely within the United States. Primary responsibilities of this position will be management and oversight of the delivery of GIS technology projects to RAMTeCH’s utilities and telecommunications customers. The successful candidate will report directly to the Sr. Director, Professional Services, and will work in a team environment with sales, project managers, GIS technicians/analysts, consultants, developers, offshore technical resources, and clients to support a variety of GIS projects. In addition, the candidate will define technical scope, execute technical projects, and perform resource management.
Position Requirements
The successful candidate must be experienced working with and managing the implementations of Esri GIS technology and related services. Additional requirements include, but are not limited to:
· Strong understanding of gas and electric utility, and telecommunications business processes and systems
· Gas and electric utility experience with GIS (i.e., Esri, Smallworld, Intergraph, etc.), ADMS, Work Management and/or SAP/Maximo systems
· Extensive knowledge of the Esri ArcGIS software suite (ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Maps, etc.) and related geospatial technologies
· Strong understanding of database management, spatial analysis techniques, and geospatial data formats with a focus on the Esri Utility Network data models and tools
· Strong understanding of industry-standard IT processes, procedures, and security requirements
· IT project management experience with the implementation of IT infrastructure, software, data transformation solutions and strategic consulting projects
· Strong working knowledge of SDLC practices and procedures
· Experience with waterfall and agile project delivery methodologies following PMI PMBOK standards
· Excellent organizational, communication, listening, and customer-facing skills
· Establish effective, collaborative working relationships with clients, US and offshore team members and leadership.
· Work independently either through direct interaction and/or by leading a diverse interdisciplinary team, including domestic staff, offshore staff, and business partners
· Experience leading and providing supervision to a technical project team of project managers, consultants, developers, analysts, and technicians
· Support sales with the definition of project scope, schedules, estimates, and customer communications
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively within a team environment
· Experience developing reports and presentations
· Written and verbal communication skills and excellent listening skills for individual interactions and in group settings
Experience and Education Required
· Experience
o 10+ years of proven successful IT and GIS project implementation experience with gas and electric utilities, and telecommunications companies
· Education:
o Minimum of bachelor’s degree in GIS, computer science, engineering, or a related field, with preference to master’s degree
o PMI PMP certification is preferred
