Job Description:
Works in collaboration with the Trauma Program Manager (TPM) and Trauma Medical Director (TMD) to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the Trauma Program performance improvement (PI) activities, including data collection, analysis, trending and benchmarking of data outcomes. Responsible for implementing the Trauma Program Performance Improvement and Patient Safety (PIPS) Plan and monitoring adherence to Trauma Program clinical practice guidelines, policies and procedures. Demonstrates clinical competence, acts as a clinical resource, and assists in staff development.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree Nursing or Health Care Related Field - Required
Master's Degree Nursing, Public Health, Health Administration, or Related Field - Preferred

BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association - Required
ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association - Required
TNCC Trauma Nurse Core Course - Emergency Nurses Association - Preferred. However, required to work with Trauma patients or
ATCN Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses - STN Society of Trauma Nurses - Preferred. However, required to work with Trauma patients
AIS Abbreviated Injury Scale Course - AAAM Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine - Preferred
Trauma Registrar Course – ATS American Trauma Society - Preferred
TOPIC Trauma Outcomes and Performance Improvement Course - STN Society of Trauma Nurses - Preferred
CCRN Critical Care RN - AACN American Association of Critical-Care Nurses or
Certified ER Nurse - Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing or
TCRN Trauma Certified Registered Nurse - Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing - Preferred
Skills:
Ability to show initiative, work effectively and collaboratively with hospital staff
Flexible, well organized, and self-directed
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent critical thinking and interpersonal skills
Ability to work as part of multiple teams and to interact effectively with physicians and other staff
Strong knowledge in database management, computers (hardware/software), Windows, Microsoft Office, statistical reports
Experience in public speaking and teaching an asset
Ability to work independently
Experience in implementing o r participating in implementation of evidence-based practice projects an asset

Pay Range:
$84.21 - $113.47

Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.
Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word ‘exempt’ on it.
