POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Construction Liaison is a key member of the relocation/development team who acts as the point of contact for residents as it relates to construction. The Construction Liaison is responsible for overseeing engagement with residents regarding relocation, moving, packing, notices, and providing administrative support to the development team. This position involves regular communication with residents, and third-party vendors including but not limited to: cleaning services vendors, relocation and management companies, data collection and tracking. A positive attitude and a solutions-based approach are expected when providing relocation services to clients and residents. This individual must be an energetic self-starter who is well organized, and detail oriented who must also be an independent thinker with the ability to work with minimal supervision while exercising good judgment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate resident meetings with members of the community and the development team as needed
- Contact residents to schedule access to their apartments for construction and any inspections
- Participate in surveying residents to understand their relocation needs, preferences, and any hardships they may face with construction
- Track and report households in need of rightsizing
- Participate in and facilitate resident and community meetings and drop-in sessions to discuss the relocation process and resident relocation rights and benefits
- Prepare and distribute appropriate notices to affected households regarding the relocation program and ensure proof of resident receipt for notices are received and on file as required
- Implement relocation policies as outlined in the approved relocation plan
- Serve as a liaison between relocation management, property management, clients, and residents.
- Provide weekly reports to the Director of Development, and the Development team
- Prepare agenda for weekly relocation meetings, take minutes of each meeting, and distribute them to the team within 48 hours of the meeting
- Conduct pre-inspection of hospitality units to ensure they meet decent, safe, and sanitary requirements before offering them as a comparable relocation unit
- Notify residents of the move-in date and provide ongoing contact and support to ensure they are prepared to move
- Check-in with residents as their apartments are under renovation to schedule, coordinate and supervise moves and other move-related tasks, including pest inspection and unit turnover as needed
- Work closely with construction, property management, development, and moving contractors to ensure residents vacate their units per the relocation schedule, surrender keys to the property management, and units are properly secured
- Interface with residents' families, friends, or social services providers to ensure seamless delivery of services and address relocation challenges
- Complete all tasks identified in the site work plan and perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s degree preferred
- Bilingual (preferred)
- 2-4 years of previous administrative experience
- Interest or experience in a field related to real estate development and/or construction
- Advanced skills with Microsoft applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications.
- Must be able to communicate critical information effectively between staff, management, and external customers.
- Must be able to communicate effectively to internal staff, clients, families, and external customers
- Must be able to manage collaborative teams for larger projects or groups, both internal and external to the organization and across functional areas.
- Must be able to lead operational initiatives to meet or exceed customer service standards and expectations in area(s) of responsibility and/or across multiple areas in a timely and respectful manner.
- Must be able to manage and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

- While largely sedentary, this position requires the ability to sit, stand, and lift up to 20 lbs., speak, and hear, sometimes for extended periods of time
- Requires the ability to use a computer and office equipment traditionally found in office settings
- Requires the periodic ability to travel regionally, on behalf of the company
