Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Operations Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in culinary, food production, or kitchen management. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your skills will contribute to the smooth operation of our establishment.
RESPONSIBILIES:
- Assist with the assembly of food ingredients for culinary classes and events as well as receiving, inventory and daily maintenance for the stewarding and food purchasing department
- Serves as an assistant to the Director of Stewarding and Purchasing
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or chef instructor
QUALIFICATIONS:
- An interest in food and cooking
- Dependability, punctuality and timely attendance is required
- Restaurant or food industry experience a plus
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Familiar with food ingredients or willingness to learn
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a team
- Able to multi-task and follow instructions
- Able to set up and break down rooms for classes in a timely fashion.
- A sense of urgency and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and within a group of team members
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is a plus
