Job Summary
The Leave Administration Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily administration of all leave programs and requests for accommodations as well as all leaves required under federal, state mandates.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Administer leave and disability programs.
- Responds to leave and disability inquiries from managers and employees.
- Works with carrier representatives in processing all leave requests.
- Effectively interprets FMLA, ADA and USERRA as they relate to leave of absence.
- Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
- Works with payroll administration to ensure employees paid appropriately while out on leave.
- Establish supportive relationships with occupational health clinics and 3rd party administrators.
- Implements program goals and policies that have been established by the business.
- Maintain compliance reporting calendars.
Working conditions:
- Work in coordination with Human Resources and Safety in matters concerning occupational health requirements, leave administration, return to work, ADA compliance, and DOT requirements.
- Accurately record and report required testing.
- Maintain the privacy of the employee and the confidentiality of the medical information received.
- Accurately assess the need and initiate appropriate required diagnostic testing.
- Ability to research and review regulatory information and standards to determine appropriate actions.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Previous supervisory experience required.
- Knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Problem solving with ability to recognize issues and deal with them directly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- High school diploma or GED and five+ years of experience in employee benefits administration specifically leave administration.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources preferred.
