Temporary Claims Processor
Location: Bend, Oregon- starting fully in office with possibility for hybrid schedule
Schedule: Full time, Monday -Friday 8am-5pm
Pay: $22-$25/hr plus DOE
Length of assignment: Indefinite
POSITION SUMMARY: Primarily responsible for processing/tendering product liability claims to manufacturers and suppliers and processing mostly non-disputed property damage claims for third party claimants and company stores. Additionally responsible for various administrative tasks associated with the review, investigation and processing of property damage claims.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
40% - Process new product claims by tendering claims to the product manufacturers/suppliers and report claim status to customers and Store managers. Work with Les Schwab Tire Center management to secure failed products for shipping to manufacturers/suppliers. Occasionally handle disputed product liability decisions with product manufacturers/suppliers to achieve desired outcome for customers/stores. Work with internal Purchasing and Training Department personnel when necessary to review product liability determinations from manufacturers/suppliers and provide feedback on claim decisions.
40% - Process non-disputed property damage claims for third party claimants and stores that involve minimal investigation and damage analysis. Arrange vehicle rentals for third party claimants, process subrogation requests on behalf of Claim Specialists and at the direction of Risk Services Management. Assist Claim Specialists in processing DMV paperwork, independent adjuster assignments, securing documents from third party claimants as directed by Claim Specialists and Risk Services management.
5% - Process incoming retread product claims through Les Schwab Production Center and report claim status to customers and store managers. Work with Les Schwab Production Center personnel in gathering information regarding failure analysis and deliver claim disposition outcomes to Store management and third party claimants.
15% - Review and respond to all product liability End of Day Reports. Prepare Product Shipping Labels, track shipped products from Stores, collect claim data, data entry and claim set-up. Assist Risk Services Administrator in handling new third party liability claim intake, obtaining and verifying information from Store personnel, data entry, preparing claim disposition correspondence, prepare claim analytics for Risk Services Department
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Educational/Experience Requirements:

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.

Should have some years of experience fielding phone calls and emails in a high-volume setting such as in a customer service representative position.

Must have strong critical thinking, problem solving, conflict management, decision making and communication skills.

General insurance knowledge preferred.

Associate Degree or higher preferred.

Previous automotive industry experience preferred.

Prior administrative experience.

Prior insurance experience preferred.
Required Technical Skills/Knowledge:
-
Applicable knowledge of automotive design, function and repair (e.g.., brake, alignment, suspension).

Understanding of legal liability principles as they relate to property damage claims.

Fluent in Google Suites business systems, word, excel and/or other customer service/risk management software.

Extreme accuracy with data entry and payment processing functions.
