Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for dental procedures
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Perform medical coding for dental procedures
- Conduct patient assessments and record medical history
- Maintain aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Manage patient records using electronic health record systems (Epic, Dentrix)
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care
Skills:
- Proficient in medical imaging techniques for dental x-rays
- Knowledge of medical coding for dental procedures
- Ability to perform patient assessments and record medical history accurately
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control protocols in a dental setting
- Experience working with electronic health record systems, such as Epic or Dentrix
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
- Experience working with CAD/CAM systems for dental restorations is a plus
- Comfortable working with pediatric patients
