The Environmental Field Technician we are seeking is motivated, responsible, and reliable. This role is pivotal in achieving our field service operational goals by maximizing growth, and account penetration within our markets by effectively providing field service operations. Field Service responsibilities will include assisting with the management of hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste, sustainable reclamation options, and recyclables.
Key Responsibilities:
In this important position, you will work with hazardous and non-hazardous waste including waste preparation for shipment to disposal sites, analytical sample collection and recovery, remediation/clean up services.
- Conduct waste preparation services to include labeling and identifying waste requiring additional attention to meet DOT shipping requirements
- Ability to learn analytical sampling procedures for hazardous, non-hazardous, and unknown waste in a professional and safe manner while onsite
- Complete all required paperwork and other miscellaneous reports for coordination with transportation/waste profiler
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the company's available services, lines of business, and offers additional services as appropriate to new and existing customers
- Assist Field Chemist in lab pack activities including preparation, labeling, and packing hazardous and non-hazardous waste
- This position involves travel, including overnight stays, while managing projects
Minimum Qualifications:
· Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
· Must have a valid drivers license with clean driving record
· Previous experience in environmental services desired
· Will be required to drive a service truck for responding to field service needs and non-hazardous LTL loads
· OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred
· Enjoy working outdoors at times in every kind of weather condition safely
· Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work at elevated heights at times
· Ability and desire to be on your feet, lift up to 75 pounds, climb stairs or ladders and work at an elevated height and use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity
· Ability to operate light and medium equipment with training
· Must be open to travel including overnight stays while working on projects
· Safety is paramount. Adhere to all PPE, safety requirements necessary for conducting operations in a safe, effective, and compliant manner
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.96 - $25.25 per hour
