- $5,000 Sign-On Bonus
- SHIFT: Day/Evenings - Start times will vary, most likely include 8am, 11am, 2pm - 10 hour shifts (Stand-by call is offered but on a voluntary basis)
- COMPENSATION RANGE: $58.34 - $81.26 (Plus additional 10% Evening Differential)

JOB SUMMARY:
The Computed Tomography Technologist (CT Technologist) is a highly skilled professional, who is confident in producing multiplane images for interpretation by the radiologist. The CT Technologist operates specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' human anatomy which aid the radiologist in the diagnosis of a wide variety of diseases and disorders. The CT Technologist will be knowledgeable with the CT scanner and understand how to manipulate scans to accommodate for patients’ size, motion and to reduce any undesirable artifacts. All CT Technologists will follow departmental policy and procedures in regards to ALARA, possible pregnancy, and scanning protocols as directed by the radiologist. Taking stand-by may be a necessary responsibility according to hospital needs.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
- Formal Training in an accredited Radiological program with an Associates degree in Radiology
- High school diploma or an equivalent G.E.D. program therein.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of two years full time experience as a CT Technologist in an acute care hospital facility or completion of Marin Health cross-training program.
LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Required possession of valid California Certified Radiological Technologist Certificate (CRT)
- Required possession of Fluoroscopy certification
- Required possession of ARRT certification related to the modality
- Computerized Tomography (C.T.) Certification within 12 months of hire*
* C.T. Certification Requirement does not apply to employees within the C.T. Department hired prior to December 31, 2017.
- Possession of membership in good standing with American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT)
- Required Possession of valid Basic Life Saving certificate
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Competently performs all diagnostic imaging examinations as outlined in the department policy and procedure manual
- Responsible for educating and preparing patients for their exam
- Provide patient care that is essential to the performance of a variety of procedures
- Patient positioning and setting appropriate technical factors to accurately demonstrate patient anatomy and pathology
- Assume responsibility for the safety, mental, and physical comfort of the patient
- Accurately correlates patient clinical history with the Radiology exam to be performed
- Competently uses universal precautions when working with patients in isolation status and in sterile surgery
- Competently assists with department clerical functions
- Attends and participates in department meetings
- Keeps current with changes in policy and procedure
- May require work shift rotation in order to participate in training
- Ability to accurately troubleshoot radiology equipment in order to knowledgeably communicate need for repair to service personnel
- Uses effective critical thinking skills in order to implement alternative methods when problems arise so that satisfactory solutions are achieved
- Knowledgeable about equipment down time procedures for Radiology Information System
- Accurately prioritizes work assignments
- Effectively schedules work load for maximum productivity
- Effectively responds to emergency situations. Able to integrate emergency work into regularly scheduled responsibilities

Furthermore, all compensation decisions are ultimately determined in accordance with our compensation philosophy. Compensation for positions covered by collective bargaining agreements are governed by the agreements in the aforementioned document.
