Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Shipping and Receiving Associate to join our team. This role is crucial for managing the flow of goods and ensuring the accuracy and safety of shipments. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to ensuring the integrity of calibration equipment and supplies during the shipping and receiving process.
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments, verifying accuracy and condition of deliveries, and coordinate with suppliers to resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and pack outgoing shipments, ensuring that items are securely packed and labeled according to company standards and legal requirements.
- Maintain detailed records of inventory and shipments, including data entry and management of shipping/receiving logs.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to manage warehouse inventory.
- Coordinate with the sales and technical teams to prioritize shipments based on customer needs and deadlines.
- Ensure the warehouse is organized and maintain a safe working environment according to OSHA standards.
- Process returns and manage the logistics of sending out replacements or repairs.
- Assist in inventory audits and ensure adherence to internal controls and processes.
- Communicate effectively with carriers, suppliers, and internal departments to optimize logistics procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certification in material handling or logistics is a plus.
- Proven experience in shipping and receiving, ideally in a technical or industrial environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Experience with warehouse management software and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Forklift certification and experience in safe material handling practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
