Fire Protection Engineer needed to assist the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Pacific Planning Design and Constructions Directorate, Design Division at JBPHH, Hawaii.
Engineer will be performing fire protection engineering for new and existing facilities to include analysis/basis, plans, specifications, calculations and estimates for acquisition of active and passive fire protection systems for protection of various facility types.
Must have experience with the following:
Fire protection systems include, but are not limited to, water-based fire suppression system, standpipe system, chemical-based fire suppression system, gaseous clean agent fire suppression system, fire pump and control system, water supply and storage system, firefighting access and fire hydrant systems, advance early warning and conventional fire alarm/detection and mass notification system, fire alarm reporting system, smoke control/management system, structural fireproofing system, firestop system, national recognized testing laboratory testing requirements, life safety and means of egress system, fire resistance rated construction and opening protective systems, facility mutual fire exposure protection system, building code allowable facility size regulations, electrical hazard classifications, hazardous material/waste protection, life safety power supply system, marking and illumination of egress system, etc.
