CVM, Inc. is looking for an experienced Manual Machinist / Tool & Die Maker / Fabrication Specialist
We're a custom machine building company that designs and builds automated equipment, manufacturing lines, fixtures and spare parts for the bay area tech industry. Our small team has expert machining, welding and forming capabilities as well as a team of engineers and technicians. Our mix of work is incredibly varied across local industries and changes day by day (you will be challenged and won't get bored).
The open machinist role is to support our customers and internal engineers as an experienced fabricator. Most fixtures or parts will have CAD models and drawings, but there are times you'll be asked to help troubleshoot equipment and modify components to improve a mechanism's performance. An ability to communicate clearly, work with a team, and think creatively are essential to being a successful contributor at CVM.
- Candidate should have an excellent understanding of prints, material, characteristics and behavior during machining.
- Candidate should have excellent knowledge of speeds/feeds and tooling.
- Experience machining small and intricate parts from various metals and plastics is required.
- Candidate should have proven success collaborating with a highly proficient and fast paced team of engineers/technicians/assemblers
Equipment
- 3 Manual lathes, 2 with Prototrack controllers
- 5 Manual mills, 3 with Prototrack controllers.
- 2 CNC mills
- 2 CNC lathes
- Traditional Machine Shop power and hand tools, secondary fab-machine shop equipment.
