Theology Teacher
Overview:
Beaumont School, founded in 1850, is the oldest school in the Cleveland Diocese and the oldest all-girls secondary school in greater Cleveland. Summary:
This position is responsible for teaching the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland curriculum centered around morality and curriculum guidelines while developing engaging lessons and providing instructional strategies for students at varying levels.
Reports to: Principal, Assistant Principal for Academics, Assistant Principal for Student Affairs
Status: Exempt, full-time
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Theology/Education or related field; Master’s preferred
- Willingness to support the mission and vision of Beaumont
- The position requires VIRTUS certification and FBI/BCI background check

Position Responsibilities:
- Teaches full-time, including 6 blocks during 2-day A/B cycle, plus assigned duties
- Follows course objectives of the Beaumont School curriculum
- Works collaboratively with fellow teachers to design and deliver authentic instruction and assessment
- Works with other departments to provide interdisciplinary support and to develop cross-curricular units
- Maintains classroom control and pupil behavior
- Communicates with counselors, administration, and tutors to maintain a positive learning experience and identify any problems or difficulties among students
- Communicates with parents and students by maintaining gradebook, LMS Page, and through email/phone calls
- Pursues and participates in professional development on a regular basis
- Maintains flexible hours within contract specifications, providing time before or after school for additional help, individualized instruction, and mentoring
- Participates in required afterschool and weekend events like open houses, curriculum nights, and parent-teacher conferences

Work Environment:

Working conditions will require working in front of a computer for several hours. Occasionally working outside standard working days or hours is required. Frequent in-person meetings for individuals or groups, virtual meetings, and phone calls. The noise level in the work environment is indicative of a school environment; however, variations in noise level may occur during school announcements, changing of classes or school events.
