OVERVIEW:
The Social Media and Marketing Specialist is responsible for helping put RED VELVET’s best face forward to the world as well as executing on plans to increase interest in the brand and our services.
This person oversees all RED VELVET social media marketing efforts, including management of the brand’s presence on social channels (existing and new/burgeoning) and includes and support of outbound and promotional marketing efforts and deliverables.
This position reports into the Senior Marketing Manager and is part of the Business Development team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Content Strategy & Calendar
- Assist in developing annual marketing and content strategy, including goals for the year
- Maintain the MASTER content calendar, tracking the plan for all active and upcoming channels to be activated, where/when appropriate
- Assist in the development of the brief for the photographer and/or videographer to capture marketing assets and brief in advance of program (AM to write the brief)
- Incorporate program highlights into content calendar and identify opportunities for case studies that can be featured on the website, in marketing materials or proposals
RED VELVET Website
- Update, with guidance from manager, website feed with interesting and relevant content from channels, including “Insights” (blog), program showcases, network updates and industry highlights
- Update “Insights” page
- Brainstorm insight topics with manager and CEO
- Comment, edit, proofread & add additional internal & external links
- Select compelling header image related to topic
- Publish and promote on channels
- Manage/approve comments
- Respond or inform necessary parties to respond
- Update “Work” section in accordance with strategy
- Keep plugins & other Squarespace items up to date
- Update careers section after Careers Specialist publishes on CareerPlug
- Update team section with new hires after the person has been with the company for three (3) months and/or has a headshot to share, along with bio
Social Media
- Plan (with guidance from supervisor), create, publish, and share new content (including original text, images, video, and code) in accordance with set goals and objectives
- Ensure social media posts and updates are on brand and in accordance with our style guide)
- Inform development and optimization of our social media strategy with competitive monitoring, research, platform determination, messaging, and audience identification and refinement
- Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies
- Set up and optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of the company’s social content
- Monitor SEO and customer engagement and suggest content optimization
- Respond to, with guidance from manager, general direct messages and comments; moderate user-generated content
RED VELVET Internal and External Marketing Events/Efforts
- Own the creative asset library, keeping it updated with any brand evolution we may add/modify
- Develop creative assets for internal events and marketing-related events, with support from Creative team

Manage the internal Adobe Creative Library for Creative team to use.
- Develop Marketing campaign and creative assets for external marketing efforts (LinkedIn, Instagram, Google, Print, Digital), with guidance from manager
- Assist in onsite communications where necessary/pre-determined for marketing asset capture
- Assist in delivering of client gifts, leveraging the Business Development team for fresh ideas and implementation
- Bolster your network by interacting with industry professionals and influencers via social media
Client Program-Related
- Assist manager in direction of Account Leads/ creative director on photography shot list if photos are being used for marketing purposes (vs client hired)
- Assist in videography prep and onsite communication, manage photography prep/communication when necessary
- Help produce, where needed and available, end-to-end collateral material for marketing purposes and social channels
- Manage event content/assets after event to ensure each is properly loaded into Google Drive, including event details, keywords & notes about any sharing restrictions, as needed
- Assist manager in being “go-to” for any ad-hoc photo requests from press, PR, or Visit Austin
