CAVCOMM is currently looking for a part-time HR/Payroll Processor to join our dedicated team. You will be responsible for the full-cycle recruitment process, on-boarding/off-boarding, processing weekly payroll via Paychex, employee retention and employee events, training, and HR analytics. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage postings, scheduling, and interviews for potential candidates. Extend job offers, verbal and written, perform reference checks, coordinate drug screening and new hire announcements. Process termination paperwork, conduct exit interviews.
- Identify qualified candidates through various recruiting and sourcing tools.
- Process weekly payroll via Paychex software for 45+ employees.
- Market Research: Keep up to date on employment market, industry trends, cost of living/inflations statistics and benchmarking in order to maintain competitive in market.
- Performance Reviews: Assist in managing performance review cycle. Assist in managing employee retention and succession planning.
- Employee Training: Identify, arrange, track and report on employee training requirements and needs.
- Employee Relations: be available to talk with employees and answer questions regarding policies, procedures, and payroll.
- Have good understanding of health insurance plans to be able to answer questions/inquiries from employees.
- Respond appropriately to and investigate employee relations issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints.
- Complete information requests from internal and external auditors if required.
- Cobra notifications: Processes and forward termination paperwork and distribution requests to third party benefit administrators as appropriate or otherwise legally mandated.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years Human Resource experience, preferably in a telecommunications or construction environment
- HR Certifications such as PHRM/SHRM preferred
- Experience with Paychex HRIS/payroll software A PLUS
- Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints, counselling managers and employees on the interpretation of policies and procedures
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources management and supervision
- Able to prepare written reports and correspondence, and conduct presentations to leadership as required
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally
- Extensive knowledge of applicable state and federal employment and labor laws and governmental compliance requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Extensive knowledge of Unemployment and Workers Compensation
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to prioritize work, and self-motivated
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions
