A Texas based company has an opening for a The director will lead the IT team to develop, plan and implement an information technology strategy that meets the company’s business needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide direction and support to the IT team that will enhance business operations.
· Ensure the security and integrity of the company’s systems.
· Lead and support the implementation of software and hardware upgrades.
· Lead and evaluate IT projects thru planning, taking action, document progress, and proactively solve issues.
· Collaborate and act as a business partner with members of the senior executive team to identify ways IT can assist the company in achieving business and financial goals.
· Identify security vulnerabilities and eliminate with solutions that increase data safety
· Ensure that the network infrastructure adequately supports the company’s computing, data processing, communication needs and make recommendations as needed.
· Develop and implement an effective information security and controls policy including compliance with all applicable regimes such as PCI.
· Prepare and implement annual IT budget that includes software, hardware, and infrastructure, by creating business cases justifying and evaluating ROI.
· Oversee the operation of servers, integrations, and maintenance of company systems.
· Review the performance of IT systems to determine productivity levels, operating costs and upgrade requirements.
· Oversee contract negotiations with IT vendors, contractors, and service providers; maximize use of in-house versus outsourced services, establish strategic service provider partnerships
· Research potential technology solutions in support of new initiatives, opportunities, and procurement efforts.
· Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, purchasing, and help desk support.
· Manage IT staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary action.
· Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with executives, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or business administration or other relevant field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
· 10 years or more years of relevant technology experience in strategic and operations planning, including people leadership and project management responsibilities.
· Proven experience in IT infrastructure strategic planning and development, project management, and policy development.
· Demonstrated success in software implementation projects.
· Good understanding and technical knowledge of network, PC operating systems, hardware, protocols, and standards.
· Good understanding of manufacturing methods and procedures, warehousing, logistics, supply chain, purchasing and production planning.
· Experience with implementing POS systems.
· Strong understanding of security requirements and best practices.
· Knowledge of industry standards and best practices including:
- NIST 800-53 Controls (National Institute of Standards and Technology)
- PCI v3.2.1 (Payment Card Industry)
- PII (Personally Identifiable Information)
- ISO 27001 & 27003 (International Organization for Standardization)
· Have strong leadership skills that are displayed through leading by example, treating people with respect, and by helping the team to grow to achieve company and personal goals.
· Have a healthy sense of urgency when needed.
· Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
· Ability to make presentations to executive and lower-level management with achievement of understanding.
· Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail.
· Ability to effectively prioritize with a sense of urgency and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment, while maintaining a professional demeanor.
· Extensive experience working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
· Must possess ability to exercise confidentiality.
· Moderate travel as required.
