Job Summary
HeartShare Human Services of New York is a dedicated non-profit organization providing comprehensive services to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for those we serve through innovative and compassionate care. We are currently looking for a meticulous and organized Billing Clerk to join our team and contribute to our mission. In this position, you will be responsible for managing billing processes for various programs.
HeartShare is seeking a DYNAMIC, ENERGETIC, POSITIVE TEAM PLAYER to join our HeartShare billing department. The ideal candidate for this position will have general experience in Medicaid billing. This is a FULL-TIME HYBRID scheduled position!
Job Responsibilities

Submit billing for Day Habilitation (Day Hab), Supervised Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRA), Respites, and Community Habilitation (Community Habilitation) programs.

Review and submit billing weekly for the Billing Department.

Research and resolve denied or pending claims.

Reconcile all remittances on a weekly basis.

Fill out and submit paper billing as needed.

Review and check batches of checks run by Accounts Payable.

Review and accept checks and cash deposits.

Create monthly spreadsheets for Day Hab programs.

Invoice out-of-agency individuals.

Contact programs to resolve any issues with billing reports.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED is required. Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.

Proven experience as a Billing Clerk or in a similar financial role.

Strong understanding of billing and accounting principles.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and SharePoint

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Knowledge of billing system/Medicaid system: MillinPro, PrecisionCare, Clearinghouse, EMEDNY Choices.
