Texas Neurology is seeking an experienced MRI Technician for full time work Monday – Friday 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM (with shift differential) to work in the Diagnostic Imaging Center. Equipment: GE 1.5T HDX and GE 3T 750W performing Neuro protocols. Working in conjunction with the Imaging Manager and imaging team to improve the workflow experience for all patients. Following the ACR Safety Guidelines to ensure a safe & positive outcome. Technologist must be able to perform MRI procedures adhering to departmental protocols, which include but are not limited to Head, MRA, MSK and Spine imaging. IV skills a must. Assures compliance with appropriate regulatory agencies related to patient and employee safety.
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
- Performs MRI procedures as ordered achieving a high level of quality. Offers expertise to physicians regarding appropriateness of additional/modified studies, etc.
- Escorts patients to treatment room.
- Completes all paperwork necessary to ensure timely delivery of MRI services.
- Provides protection for patient and self in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
- Ensures the safety and physical comfort of the patient while in technologist’s care.
- Conducts weekly quality control measures to monitor machine performance.
- Reports all malfunctions and/or need for adjustments to the proper company or facility.
- Maintains confidentiality of all information related to patients and medical staff.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Comprehends and understands fully MRI Safety Standards.
- IV skills is a requirement.
- Angio experience is a requirement.
- Must follow Texas Neurology protocols, workflow & safety standards.
- Fully understanding patient safety screening.
KNOWLEDGE, PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- (ARMRIT/ARRT) Magnetic Resonance Imaging Registry required.
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience as an MRI Technologist.
- An MRI accredited school/training program.
- Current CPR certifications required.
WORKING CONDITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to direct contact with patients and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
- Full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination for operation and repair of all department equipment.
- Lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Lifts and pushes patients in wheelchairs/stretchers weighing up to 300 pounds and places in appropriate positions for operation of equipment.
- Requires ability to reach above shoulder height, sitting/standing for extensive periods of time, and corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Varied activities including standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
