CAST Centers is an outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment center (PHP and IOP levels of care) located in West Hollywood.
We are in search of an experienced therapist who is team oriented with a desire to evolve in their clinical experience and join an exceptional team of professionals. We work with people to increase their capacity for well-being and improve their quality of life and we are looking for someone that carries this same value into their work and in their life. This is a full-time or part-time, in-person position with some remote work. The clinician will provide direct mental health and substance abuse treatment services. This includes group therapy, individual therapy, case management and other clinical services. The role of the Therapist at CAST Centers is to address problems faced by the client regarding behavioral, environmental, psychological and social stressors. Therapists work closely with the Program Director, Clinical Manager and the treatment team to ensure a comprehensive and supportive care for the client. Salary ranges based on clinical experience. We offer BBS approved supervision.
Responsibilities
- Interviews the client to obtain psycho-social information regarding personal history, prior experience with treatment and other relevant information to diagnosis under the DSM V criteria
- Works as part of clinical team to provide client care
- Facilitates group and individual therapy sessions
- Designs and administers a therapeutic treatment plan based on the requirements and needs of the client
- Identifies the issue(s) from the treatment plan, describes any repercussions from previous issues and identifies any new issues, which may require adjustment of the treatment plan
- Adjusts the treatment plan as necessary when indicated by the client
- Addresses the total needs and expectations of the client, inclusive of medical, psychosocial, behavioral, and spiritual needs
- Collaborates efforts that focus on moving the client towards pre-established goals
- Develops the client’s personal involvement in his/her treatment plan in order to increase the client’s desire and ability for self-care
- Using evidence-based guidelines, as available, in the daily practice of therapy
- Focuses on transitions of care, which includes a complete transfer to an alternative care provider that is effective, safe, timely, and complete
- Expanding the interdisciplinary team to include client and/or their identified support system, health care providers, including community-based and facility based professionals (i.e., pharmacists, nurse practitioners, holistic care providers, etc.)
- Moving the client to optimal levels of health and well-being
- Assists client throughout CAST network and community by acting as a patient advocate
- Participates in CAST’s weekly team meetings and quality improvement initiatives
- Coordinates with other healthcare professionals to assure good beneficiary care throughout the continuum and maintain professional relationships
- Provides referrals/support for follow-up care
- Provides education to the client and families at their level of understanding, when and where needed, in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner, to engage them in self-care management for their highest/optimal level of health
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of principles, methods and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and follow up recommendations based on DSM V criteria
- Knowledge and understanding of treating BOTH mental health and substance use disorders
- Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality and privacy laws associated with the treatment of clients in an outpatient treatment facility
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
- Ability to relate to and empathize with the client’s issues and trauma and provide the appropriate feedback and appraisal of the situation
- Ability to appropriately handle stressful circumstances related to client’s emotional reaction to certain situations
- Possess a strong understanding of clinical conceptualizations
- Possess a strong understanding of CAST program/services and philosophies, and ability to clearly communicate them to clients
- Awareness of recovery principles and processes
Education and Experience
- Master’s level degree in Social Work field or Clinical Psychology: LCSW, LMFT, etc.
- California clinical licensure in good standing
- A minimum of two years working in mental health and/or addiction treatment or a related mental health field
- Previous experience working on a team

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
