As a Data Center Construction Manager specializing in building large scale data centers for Big Tech companies, your role is pivotal in the early stages and construction of data center projects. Your responsibility involves overseeing the entire process of delivering data centers, from the initial design phase, through construction, to the final closeout.
You will be will be responsible for managing the design process starting with basis of design stage through issuance of construction drawings. This includes setting up meetings between engineering teams, developers, and SMEs. You will oversee every facet of construction and construction administration until project handoff. Your duties will encompass continuous coordination until project completion, involving oversight of progress, progress reporting, and management of change orders and budgets. The preferred candidate should possess a robust grasp of large scale building construction and/or design, coupled with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
- Manage data center projects including all aspects of the program, concept and design development, schedule and budget management.
- Provide Day-to-Day construction oversight and report to leadership on a routine basis.
- Resolve highly critical issues within a matrix organization while maintaining adherence to project timelines and costs.
- Engage with customers, cross-functional partners, and other internal organizations.
- Facilitate design reviews in partnership with external partners;
- Provide health reporting on cost, schedule, scope and progress;
- Provide clear and transparent communication with all internal stakeholder and external partners; and
- Coordinate ongoing meetings with site developers, Data Center vendors, general contractors and individuals for onsite;
- Expertise from an engineering perspective for construction, commissioning and closeout;
- Oversee Submittals and Request for Information (RFIs) or questions on engineering from the site developer / general contractor;
- Track and report on key engineering submittals, deliveries, installations and commissioning references to schedule and meet milestones;
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, electrical or mechanical engineering, architecture, or a related field (Masters degree a plus)
- Professional licensure (PE, NCARB, RA) is plus
- Prior experience with large scale data center design and/or constructions of commercial/industrial buildings including airports, hospitals, labs and/or any mission critical facilities.
- Ability to travel to project & construction sites

Pay: $110,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
