The responsibilities of this role may include:
- Leads and facilitates win strategy development sessions with key decision makers and teammates that review the technical, management, teaming, past performance, and staffing components of efforts
- Oversees the management of an organization's capture process from opportunity positioning and qualification through proposal development and opportunity closing
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the business development and sales teams to achieve individual and team performance goals
- Develop, monitor, and analyze performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of business development initiatives
- Develops internal and external partnerships, business plans and marketing
- Leads the development of customer profiles, including customer needs, issues, desires, and biases
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define, establish, and set growth strategies and goals to support the company's revenue goals, and directs the effort to reach them
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic decision-making
- Identify and evaluate new market opportunities
- Develops ways to seize growth opportunities
- Confers with other Managers and Directors to ensure consistency in the organization's long-term planning
- Performs all other duties as assigned
To qualify for this position, you must possess at least 10 years of experience setting the strategy and identifying new growth opportunities for a growing, diverse organization. The candidate's years of experience must also include a demonstration of utilizing skills as an accomplished business developer who understands project management, contracts, and proposal development. A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Communications, or a related field is preferred. Shipley certification is also preferred.
