This individual will be responsible for driving day-to-day implementation planning and execution of strategic and operational initiatives for the Los Angeles Northwest Region. The Project Manager will join a team of high impact, high motivation individuals, and is expected to manage multiple work streams and proactively and effectively communicate across internal and external stakeholders.
This is a full-time position. Days and regular hours of work are Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop initiative project plans, timelines and deliverables and execute against deadlines
- Adhere to workflow processes but have flexibility to pivot and adjust if the project requires it
- Collaborate with regional operations teams and other central departments to achieve desired project end-goals
- Create slide decks, reports, and other presentation materials to communicate initiative scope, project plan, status, outcomes, etc. for supervisor, project sponsors, and other stakeholders
- Help ensure that key decision makers are involved to the appropriate degree in the appropriate aspects of the program
- Innovate on current processes to drive toward internal and external efficiencies
- Engage with central departments on scope and deployment timing of various initiatives to streamline roll out processes, identify any co-dependencies, minimize teammate burnout, and ensure alignment with organizational and department-specific goals
- Review, analyze and draw conclusions from data and effectively use the conclusions to make and communicate key recommendations
- Identify potential project risks and implement appropriate courses of action to address project slippage and develops strategies to mitigate future risks
- Escalate critical issues to business sponsor, committee(s), or work group(s) if necessary for appropriate and timely resolution as needed
- Provide input on program and project resource needs
- Utilize standardized processes, tools, methodologies, and presentation templates including project timetables, progress/milestone reports, financial reports, resource, and issues tracking

Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in project management
- 2+ years of experience in a healthcare setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with managed care business and financial models
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Solid PC-based business software skills (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project, Visio) and other business tools
- Solid ability to collaborate with senior leadership and other department directors/managers to define business process issues, analyze operational efficiencies, implement creative solutions, and measure delivery of services
- Advanced conceptual skills; able to synthesize information quickly; understands various industries and functions; and able to present material in an organized and clear manner.
- Solid organizational skills
- Promotes effective team dynamics and successful collaboration
- Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment and be an initiative-taker
- Solid analytical skills and basic understanding of SQL Server 2012 or later
California Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $70,200 to $137,800 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
