Overview:
ExplorUS is a family-owned company with nearly 30 years of experience operating National, State, and local park concessions. Over the years we have worked to enhance, elevate, and complement the visitor’s experience at each park, landmark, and property we operate. We’re seeking a Vice President of Lodging to ensure a consistent, high level of service experience for 12 lodging locations throughout the United States based on established company standards and customers’ expectations. This newly created role will be an important aspect of our fast-growing organization with lots of growth potential. Reporting to the COO, this role will be based out of our Overland Park, KS corporate office.
At ExplorUS, we focus on finding small to medium-sized park operations where we can make a large difference. We take great pride in acquiring underperforming park concessions, turning them around, and bringing them up to and beyond the expectations of our park partners and park visitors.

We are stewards of the natural, historic, and cultural resources of the parks in which we work and are committed to providing a level of hospitality that honors those resources.
Responsibilities:
- Create, develop, and implement lodging operational guidelines, KPI’s and procedures to enhance guest service quality and drive revenue growth.

Develop and implement a strategy to drive occupancy and average daily rates to optimize financial performance.
- Initiate and implement new innovations to enhance the guest experience based on current and evolving trends.

Create, forecast and manage complex expense budgets.
- Set goals, objectives, and strategic planning for lodging operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience.

10+ years of experience in the hotel or hospitality industry specifically around driving of occupancy rates in lodging facilities.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth and profitability in multi-site hospitality environments.
- Knowledge of utilizing online travel agency sites for better insight on adjusting average daily rates.
- Identify and prioritize issues, delegating as appropriate, to drive measurable results.

Strong understanding of hotel operations and revenue management principles.
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Ability to travel 20 – 25% of the time, primarily within busy seasons (Spring, Summer and Fall).
