The Office of Inspector General (OIG) under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is seeking an experienced and professional IT changer who can manage and control the execution of complex IT projects and, as a result, enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the OIG's operations. In the capacity of an IT Project Manager at the DHS OIG, you will lead, supervise, and implement IT projects and programs that enhance the mission of the OIG, which is to promote superior performance, correctness, and fairness within the Department of Homeland Security.
Responsibilities:
- Manage teams of project support personnel and interface with senior OIG leadership, including the Chief Information Officer (CIO), DIGs, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), and Directors.
- Meet with stakeholders and staff to formulate and review project plans and deliverable items, ensure conformance with schedules and costs, establish and maintain technical and financial reports to show progress of project and objectives to management, and oversee the successful completion of all assigned tasks.
- Create, manage, and maintain, according to agreeable structure and format, a Case Management Solution MS Teams channel with all reports, documentation, deliverables, schedules, objectives, project plan etc. pertaining to this contract for the life of the contract.
- Have strengths in collaboration and teamwork within, between, and across organizational boundaries, including experience engaging with management, colleagues, engineers, other contract staff and end-users to define need and business requirements for the project.
- Have knowledge and skills in obtaining information from others and applying cutting edge techniques to analyze, evaluate, recommend, and implement sound and effective solutions to problems.
- Be able to work independently and create a cohesive environment to develop and recommend solutions for a wide range of issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of DHS OIG operations and programs.
- Have demonstrated strength in consistently achieving goals and objectives, with quality and timelines strictly adhered to.
- Responsible for the overall management of multiple IT projects and ensuring that the technical solutions and schedules in the projects are implemented successfully in a timely manner.
Experience:
- Minimum of 6 years' experience as an IT PM.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Project software or other Government approved project planning software.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to explain technical content to non-technical audiences, conduct interviews, develop and present issues, and draft written reports of findings and recommendations to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of configuration/implementation.
- Experience providing project briefs to senior staff (i.e., DIGs, Directors, Government PM, CIO,CISO)
Requirements:
