The Award Winning Speech Momi LLC, a staple in the therapeutic community, is growing its online Occupational Therapy Assistant team.
Under the direction and supervision of a Licensed Occupational Therapist, the Certified OTA assists in supplementing, enhancing, and extending adaptive therapy services by completing a variety of tasks such as, but not limited to, direct activities with clients designed to develop and enhance academic performance, fine and gross motor functioning, positioning, daily living skills, feeding, play/leisure skills, cognition, balance, work skills, augmentative communication, and sensory-motor activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts adaptive screenings, using the protocols developed by the supervising OTR/L;
- Provides direct assistance for occupational therapy to students and adults;
- Follows and implements documented treatment plans while monitoring client progress;
- Assists other multidisciplinary teams during the peak of client reviews and intakes/assessments;
- Co-adapts or co-modifies instructional materials as determined by the targeted treatment objectives;
- Assists in maintaining client records, tallying data, preparing charts, records, graphs, and reports;
- Assists in sharing online multidisciplinary input with requesting families and medical practitioners;
- Implements behavior management programs as designed by certified ABA/Neuro staff;
- Attends online clinical team meetings on an as needed basis
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree from an Accredited Occupational Therapy program
Licenses and Certificates:
Current registration with a Board as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
Knowledge of:
- Fine motor strengthening, equipment, materials, and procedures;
- Sensory and cognitive disorders;
- Learning patterns in both children and adults;
- Behavior management techniques and strategies;
- Routine record keeping.
