The General Services Administration (GSA) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Configuration Management Specialist to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining configuration management processes and systems to ensure the integrity and consistency of system configurations. This role involves collaborating with various teams to manage and control changes in software, hardware, and documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain all deployed Kahua apps, as configured in the GSA environment within the KFN (see Attachment F for the configuration specifications as of the date of this document). All configurations as of the date of award of this contract shall be maintained as part of this task. All configuration changes made as part of this contract shall continue to be maintained as part of this task.
- Maintaining the existing Authorities to Operate (ATOs) for the KFN with the FedRAMP Program Management Office (PMO) and the GSA implementation of Kahua with the GSA IT Security Office of the Chief Information Security Officer (GSA CISO), at the moderate level. This includes provision of all necessary artifacts and evidence of security compliance, as well as system changes necessary to maintain security ATOs. Note that all documentation for FedRAMP and GSA ATOs must be updated to meet the requirements of NIST Special Publication 800-53.
- Maintaining the configuration specifications, including all relevant changes to the system, applications, and data structure.
- Reporting all known issues, bugs, defects, and security infractions upon discovery.
- Maintaining and updating a status log for all known issues, bugs, defects, and infractions from identification through resolution and acknowledgment by the government.
- Maintaining adequate independent environments within the Federal Network to ensure proper testing of all new development and features prior to production release to GSA’s Kahua instance.
- Managing the O&M and Perfective Maintenance ticket backlogs in GSA’s Jira instance, as prioritized by the GSA IT PM, COR, and/or Product Owner.
- Providing adequate notice to GSA of Kahua-driven changes to back end or front-end functionality, appearance, and technology to allow GSA to fully test, document, and train users prior to production release of new features or functionality or non-emergency fixes.
- Identifying and repairing defects resulting from design errors, logic errors and coding errors.
- Document the defects resulting from data processing errors, system performance errors, escaped defects from internal quality control and user acceptance testing (UAT), or reported through a help desk or other incident identification methods.
- Upon report of an escape defect, logic error and/or coding errors, initiate a root cause analysis (RCA).
- The RCA prepared by the Contractor shall indicate the error, its symptoms, and the impact of the error on present operations. If a workaround is available, this shall be documented, as well as any other instructions for end users or Tier 1 helpdesk personnel to use until the error is corrected.
- The initial report shall indicate the time the defect was first reported as well as progress notes (including resolution estimates if known). This report shall explain in non-technical language all pertinent details of the error and resolution once the error’s solution is known. The initial report shall be submitted within 2 business days of the error report.
