Punahou Dance School is actively recruiting casual per diem Dance Teachers for the 2024-2025 School Year. - Work Year: 10.5 Months
- School Year: 2024-2025
- Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM; Saturday, hours between 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Hours may vary depending on course
- Hourly Rate: $40.00/Hour
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree preferred.
- Three (3) years of experience teaching dance.
- Professional dance performance experience.
- Have an ability to motivate students and inspire their love and learning of dance.
- Have demonstrated success in working with young dancers in a group setting.
- Project a confident, positive, helpful and professional demeanor in working with others, using tact, discretion, and diplomacy at all times.
- Possess highly effective interpersonal communication skills: verbal, non-verbal, listening and written.
- Will act as a role model, understanding professional boundaries on and off-the-job, especially when interacting with students, colleagues, parents and other visitors to the Dance School.
- Are willing to collaborate and learn from teaching colleagues.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment towards continual professional development.
- Have the ability to take direction and respond positively to feedback from supervisors.
- Maintain professionalism in attendance, timeliness, conduct, and appearance.
