Eligibility for Florida certification is required. FL certification in Social Science (Grades 6-12) is a prerequisite for teaching in field. The Bureau of Educator Certification has developed instructional videos to guide applicants through the certification process, covering topics such as Florida’s Online Educator Certification System Set-up and the Florida Teacher Certification Application. - Social Science Major: Commonly accepted bachelor's (or higher degree) majors for a Florida temporary educator certificate include: Social Science, Social Studies, American History, History, Western Civilization, World History, Geography, Economic Geography (and other specialized areas of geography), Economics, Civics, Government, International Relations, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Educational Psychology (and other specialized areas of Psychology), Philosophy.
