The primary focus for our Technician’s Assistant (TA) is patient care. He or she is the foundation for all our hospital and patient needs. The TA must have compassion for animals and their human counterparts, have exceptional client service and communication skills, computer literacy, ability to multi-task, friendly attitude, and confidence to deal with stressful situations. These service functions include, but are not limited to, patient handling using Fear Free techniques, housekeeping and office maintenance, inventory management and client communication. TAs support veterinarians, technicians, client service representatives, and kennel staff in daily patient and client care. This position requires a practical knowledge of hospital organization, word processing, an understanding of the standard procedures, veterinary records and terminology used in the hospital. Essential Functions
- Regular attendance and timeliness are an essential function in order to fulfill the requirements of this position

- Input data into Cornerstone
- Assist doctors and veterinary technicians with handling cats and dogs for various procedures (i.e. blood draws, exams, vaccines, nail trims, catheter placement, radiology, etc.)
- Running lab work (ex: heartworm tests, CBC, chemistries, fecal screenings, etc.)
- Lab work machine maintenance
- Assisting with surgery and hospitalized patients
- Laundry
- Ability to multi-task
- Able to lift patients and carry equipment, products, or supplies up to 40 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 40 pounds with assistance
- Perform general physical activities that require bending, standing, stooping, moving from room to room, sit, talk, and listen; may be required to walk or stand for long periods of time; will use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel; will reach with hands and arms
